NINTENDO SWITCH S$399!?

This year, I bought myself a wonderful present - Nintendo Switch!
Moreover, I bought it at a really cheap price!
If you don't know what a Nintendo Switch is, you can watch the video below:

Or, you can read the following:

Nintendo Switch was just released in March 2017. You can play it as a handheld console or connect it to a TV. Nintendo Switch is made up of 3 parts - 2 joy-cons and a tablet. The tablet has touch screen function and the joy-cons are detachable. You can play it with another friend by lending one of the joy-cons. Nintendo Switch can connect up to 8 joy-cons, suitable to play with family or multiple friends. If you want to play it on TV, the accessories are provided and you simply connect them. The games come in physical and digital forms. You can choose to insert cartridge or download from the Nintendo eShop. Region restriction has been lifted, and so you can buy games from any countries that support eShop.

Singapore is not part of the list for Nintendo to release its products. Usually, Nintendo releases its latest product in Japan and U.S. first. In Japan, the console cost 32,367, inclusive of 8% tax (~S$384.12). In U.S., the console cost US$299.99 (~S$403.19). Japan has the cheapest price, but the shipping fee make it expensive.

Local retailers sell the Nintendo Switch as a bundle, usually with a game or two, and with warranty. It can easily cost over $650. Some people said it is worthwhile to buy these bundles because the games can be very expensive if buy separately. It is up to one's judgment. For me, I like to get the cheapest deal.

I bought mine at Qoo10 for S$399 with a shipping fee of $25. The Nintendo Switch is imported from South Korea, thus no warranty. The AC adapter is a 2-pin, rounded one. Voltage range is around the same as Singapore. No need to use a travel adapter or converter. Good news for those who want to buy one. The last time I checked, the cheapest price was S$415 with free shipping, or S$379 with a shipping fee of $25.

PROS:
  • Gameplay is a lot more fun and realistic, as the joy-cons will vibrate accordingly.
  • Multiplayer at anytime and anywhere.
  • Wider screen option by connecting the Nintendo Switch to a TV.
  • Some games are not restricted to physical controls, can touch the screen to play.
  • eShop make purchasing games convenient. It functions like an app store, where you can watch trailers or download demos before purchasing.
  • 32 GB of in-built space, with an extra slot for SD card. Nintendo claimed that it can support up to 200 TB.

CONS:
  • Good games are very expensive in eShop, usually cost US$59.99 (~S$80.63).
  • No eShop for Singapore. I have to use either U.S. or Japan eShop.
  • Not every games have demos.
  • The current list of available games are not wide enough.
